UPV Teaching and Learning Resource Center

UPV LMS integrate JoVE resources

In response to the dynamic needs of students especially in online modality, the UPV LMS integrated key tools that enable teachers to directly embed resources from the Journal of Visualized Expirements (JoVE) directly to the UPV Learning Management System through JoVE’s Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI).

JoVE is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, publishing methods articles accompanied by videos of experiments filmed in the laboratories of the authors, all of which are indexed in PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, Scopus and other relevant databases.

To orient the faculty on how to utilize available resources from JoVE, the Teaching and Learning Resource Center, in collaboration with the LMS team of UP Visayas conducted an orientation on January 22, 2025 via Zoom and was attended by faculty members from different colleges, divisions, and departments.

During the orientation, the faculty members were given a refresher overview of the UPV LMS and also a brief overview on how to utilize UPV LMS’ plagiarism scanner tool, followed by the orientation from JoVE’s Customer Success Specialist, Ms. Yuna Paunil.

The integration of JoVE to the UPV LMS is part of the current developments that aim to make online learning more engaging.

Faculty members can access resources from JoVE and directly attach them to their courses starting this second semester of AY 2024-2025.

SPF Survey

The Teaching and Learning Resource Center invites all UPV constituents (students, faculty, staff, and REPS) to answer its SPF 2024 Survey, a survey dedicated to help the TLRC grasp specific needs of the UPV clients with regards to its services, programs, and facilities. Responses on this survey would allow the TLRC gain insights on how to improve its service delivery, delivery of programs, and utilization of facilities.
