TLRC “Innovates at 28th”

The UP Visayas Teaching and Learning Resource Center (UPV TLRC) celebrated its 28th anniversary with the theme, “Innovate at 28th,” highlighting the Center’s mandate of providing teaching effectiveness programs, learning instructional assistance programs, inclusive learning spaces, and efficient services to university constituents through actively undertaking innovative steps to enrich the teaching and learning environment in UPV.

The 28th founding anniversary of the TLRC was celebrated on April 23-25, 2025 and involved collaborations from the UP All Workers Union Iloilo Chapter and student organizations such as UPV Statistical Society and UPV Tabletop Lovers.

During the Opening Program which was attended by different UPV administrators, heads of units, faculty members, students, and staff, TLRC director Asst. Prof. Christi Florence C. Cala-or presented the Center’s Accomplishment Report and Target (CARAT) which featured the significant achievements of the TLRC in the year 2024 in terms of programs, activities, and services.

The TLRC also held “Pasalamat kag Pagkilala” during the opening program which recognized the faculty members and staff who served as resource speakers and faculty tutors in the TLRC-organized programs. Volunteer Peer Tutors were also recognized for their service in the continued implementation of the TLRC Peer Tutorial Program.

Following the Opening Program, the TLRC in partnership with the All UP Workers Union Iloilo Chapter organized the workshop for UPV employees aptly titled, “Swak o Ligwak: Mga Dapat Malaman sa Graphic Design” which aimed to train non-teaching personnel on the basics of graphic design for administrative, clerical, and other uses.

The first run on April 23, 2025 was attended by the All UP Workers Union-Iloilo Chapter officers and Union Representative Committee members, while the second batch on the 25th of April was opened to UPV non-teaching staff.

Student participation was also enabled by the TLRC by co-organizing games with UPV student organizations during its second day on April 24, 2025.
TeLeMPICS, which was co-organized with the UPV Table featured classic board and card games where students were able to enjoy with their peers and compete for cash prizes.

The 28th Anniversary celebration also marked the 5th run of TeLeBINGO, a bingo game wherein students can enjoy the classic game of Bingo for cash prizes. For this year’s run, the TLRC partnered with the UPV Statistical Society. By the end of the day, five winners clinched the ultimate prizes. While the anniversary celebration aims to look back on the accomplishments of the TLRC, it is also an avenue for the center to aim towards continued growth as the center of teaching and learning enrichment.

CLIENT SATISFACTION MEASUREMENT

The Teaching and Learning Resource Center invites all UPV constituents (students, faculty, staff, and REPS) to answer its CSM Survey, a survey dedicated to help the TLRC grasp specific needs of the UPV clients with regards to its services, programs, and facilities. Responses on this survey would allow the TLRC gain insights on how to improve its service delivery, delivery of programs, and utilization of facilities.
